How true is the daily horoscope?

The daily horoscope  or 'today's horoscope" interests even the non-believers of astrology, and that is why it finds a place in almost all media platforms. a renowned Vedic astrologer, explained the significance of "daily horoscopes" in an interview with outlook. Here are the excerpts:

Do daily horoscopes really work?

the "daily horoscope" or 'today's horoscope' works if you are looking for a little entertainment and inspiration and something to talk about with family or friends. But the "daily horoscope' will not work if you are looking for help in finding direction for a life decision. The daily horoscope provides a comprehensive guide for planning the day's activities. Similarly, the weekly horoscope or monthly horoscope provides a general guide for preparing the week's or month's activities

What is the difference between a horoscope and a daily horoscope?

The horoscope or kundli is your birth chart that shows the position of the planets at the time, day and place of your birth. In contrast, a daily horoscope is a prediction based on the relative position of the Moon on a particular day to the position of the Moon in your birth sign. We try to understand predictions based on the position of a single planet in a daily chart, and that is why it is so generalized.

There is confusion about Moon and Sun signs in the "daily chart". Should we follow the Moon sign or the Sun sign in the 'daily horoscope'?

Westerners use the Sun sign analogy, while Indian astrology (Vedic astrology) focuses on the Moon sign. The Sun remains in a zodiac sign for one month, making all those born in that month people of the same sign, while the Moon remains in a zodiac sign for about two and a half days. Therefore, the number of people with the same moon sign is much smaller. An astrological sign is further subdivided into two and a quarter nakshatra. So, in Vedic astrology, a person is first classified according to his moon sign and then according to the nakshatra. It is therefore advisable to read your daily horoscope based on the moon sign.

So what is my zodiac sign, is it the moon sign or the sun sign?

According to Vedic astrology, you have a lagna (ascendant), a moon sign (Chandra Rashi), a sun sign (Surya Rashi) and so on. Western astrology, on the other hand, is all about the zodiac sign, which is the sun sign. And the sun sign according to Vedic astrology may be different from the sun sign according to Western astrology, which is due to the rotating and the fixed zodiac

So love horoscope, career horoscope and the 'horoscope today' are all generalized predictions?

Yes. Love horoscopes are based on the movement of Venus and the Moon; career horoscopes are based on the movement of Saturn and the Moon, while the "horoscope today' is based on only one planet, the Moon. This makes them very generalized.

What is the significance of the birth date, time and place in the horoscope/birth chart?

: The date of birth gives information about the positions of the orbiting planets, the time of birth gives information about the rising sign or Ascendant/Lagna, and the place of birth gives the exact degrees of the Ascendant, Descendant and Midheaven (MC). This helps in making the complete horoscope or natal chart.

What if you do not know the time, date and place of birth? Can one still benefit from a daily or weekly horoscope?

Yes, if someone does not know their birth dates, they can still benefit from the daily horoscope, weekly horoscope or monthly horoscope. The first letter of the name gives a clue to the nakshatra and thus the rashi (moon sign). If someone still has some confusion, they can go to my website www.vinaybajrangi.com and find their Rashi for free.

What to do if someone does not have accurate birth data?

This is accomplished through birth time rectification in astrology. Since it is a painful process based on unique astrological tools, it should be done only by a maestro.
